Steve took this picture for me, Kim. Quilts and cars go together in this family.
Micah looking at sign at Palo Duro Canyon State Park near Amarillo
Palo Duro is the 2nd largest canyon in the US – it is `120 miles long…not all of it in the park
Micah getting a good view!
This was a really impressive place that a lot of native Texans haven’t been too or even know about….but it is a long way away from a lot of Texas, way up in the Panhandle and texas is a big state, so it’s easy to live here and not see all the neat places
The car Steve and Micah wish they were traveling in.
These stone cabins were built by the WPA/CCC during the Depression
They are still in good shape and can be rented for the night. They have AC units

Syracuse, Kansas
Mt Sunflower is on private land that was homesteaded by this family. They have allowed people to come there. We met one of the grandaughters of the homesteaders. She was in her 80’s, very nice and happy to talk
